Chef Marcus Meacham shares one of his favorite recipes – juicy crabcake sandwiches.  Adding a crabcake to a sandwich seems so obvious now – why didn’t I think of it?

Crabcake Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup small diced Carrots
  • 1/2 cup small diced Celery
  • 1 pound Backfin Crab Meat
  • 2 cups Bread Crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Green Onion
  • Butter, for cooking
  • Sesame Seed Bun
  • Bib Lettuce, Sliced Tomato and/or other Toppings of choice.
  • Tartar Sauce, Aïoli and/or other Sauces of choice.

Directions

  1. Lightly sauté carrots and celery in a non-stick skillet. Set aside and let cool.
  2. Place cooled carrots and celery in a medium bowl. Add crab meat, bread crumbs, Old Bay, eggs, mayonnaise and green onion. Mix well.
  3. Form into cakes.
  4. Sear in small batches.
  5. Toast buns and serve with desired toppings and sauces.
